Opening & Closing Events
You can keep your party’s timeline on schedule by making a coordinated plan for opening and closing events. At the beginning of the party, you can welcome guests, make a short speech, and let everyone know what activities and games are in store. Tell guests where they can find food, drinks, tables, and entertainment, and let them know the schedule for the evening. This will create structure and prevent guests from wandering around aimlessly looking for things. At the end of the event, gather everyone together and make a closing speech thanking them for coming. Hand out sparklers and tell everyone you’re going to do one last toast before the party ends. This creates a sense of closure so people don’t need to worry about being the first or last person to leave.
